BEFORE I BEGIN
Welcome, my name is Huk’m Singh (Kamaldeep Singh Kalsi – My Legal/Birth Name until my name change is official). My name change occurred when I was blessed with Amrit (baptism) into the Sikh faith a few years ago.
It means the ‘Will of God’, the principles I live by to:
- To help others enrich their lives
- To serve humanity in every opportunity possible
- To make everyone I meet fulfil their potential in their ambitions

MY STORY
WHERE IT BEGAN...
I appreciate this may sound very cliched, but since I can remember, I have always wanted to help people in any way that I could. Through my fascination with world philosophy & ethics or my commitment to martial arts, engaging with people from all walks of life, there is no greater joy than seeing the others achieve something greater.
At the same time dedication and discipline has been a keen philosophy of mine, working at the Tao Centre Dojo and moving on to studying at the Shaolin Temple Europe. Conquer the mind, conquer the world.
This is where my initial passions for wanting to be a Barrister came into mind. Seeing the world of Law however, opened my eyes to the realisation that I needed to make a bigger impact, globally, if I could. Luck would have it, my next chapter in life did just that...

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
My Growth
The Charity, Basics of Sikhi, which had just started after I finished my BA in Law, offered me a role in creative and my education in Law and Philosophy was a perfect combination for the Charity's mission statement. This really allowed me to combine education and creativity to my hearts desire!
Before I knew it, I was travelling the world teaching students philosophy, including Japan, USA and Italy. Our success was so impactful, we have now setup educational courses attended by hundreds globally. We were even invited on the BBC! For the Big Question to represent the Sikh society.
Curiosity peaked again! Whilst training new recruits and teaching, I learnt a lot about Learning Design/Instructional Design and the importance of teaching effectively. I soon became intrigued, how do we engage students to learn beyond just by giving talks and go beyond social media engagement...then what happened next was beyond my comprehension...
LIFE AMBITIONS
RECOGNITION BEYOND MY DREAMS
I love spirituality, helping people find peace within themselves and achieve their ambitions. Hence my love for art, martial arts, Japanese culture and Rock music. The reason why I mention this is because destiny had plans I would never imagine...
My recognition for my artwork, teaching ability and genuine personality paid off when I met my childhood hero and became friends with Sonny Sandoval, lead singer from the globally recognised band P.O.D.
Not only was I allowed to tour with them and see the world and thousands upon thousands of people they engage with, I was able to showcase my art and creativity in their medium and the feedback was so well received, that I do art and digital work for the band to this day!

BIGGER GOALS
A CAREER IN TEACHING
Working with the charity, teaching across the world I wanted to pursue teaching officially. Unfortunately., Covid had just hit, but in the uncertainty of life also created an opportunity. I did not want to let this opportunity be put on standstill, I had received an opportunity at Virgin Media, where I was able to shadow seniors in their eLearning and instructional design fields whilst eLearning really became the new methodology of training
Learning as much as I could, I translated all my knowledge back into University, where I successfully completed my PGDipEd in Religion, Philosophy & Ethics at the University of Birmingham, the leading University in the world of teaching. During my time studying I pushed myself in every area I could -
Winner of the Undergraduate Design Team Competition
Finalist of the Adobe Digital Edge Award
Winner of the Asus National Periphal Design and Presentation

WHERE TO NEXT...
THE AMBITION
When I took my step into teaching at my first school, little did I realise how revolutionary my presentation and teaching style was! The fact I had teachers, years in the profession, take PowerPoint lessons from myself was overwhelming to say the least.
Students were so engaged in my lessons, that in my first year I had increased the intake of GCSE and A-Level students for Philosophy & Ethics to such an extent we had to apply for more timetable slots!
After 4 years in teaching (officially), realising the impact of my teaching pedagogy, design and learning, I I upscaled my PowerPoint abilities, recently achieving my official PowerPoint Specialist certification in 2024. Thanks to my loving wife who has had a fantastic career in HR with companies such as The Big 4, I was able to produce and reach my work out to many fields of avenues. With all the links I have developed in my 10 year career, I realised my heart is in helping people others present their story.
